20 Trailblazers Leading The Way In Upvc Replacement Door Handles

UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors get worn out over time and need to be replaced. When doing this it is important that the new handles conform to the dimensions of the old handle.

The top screw position as well as the lever and keyhole dimensions are the three measurements you have to check. Use the size guide to assistance in this.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a modern door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in many designs and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from robust materials, and are perfect for doors with multiple points that require a robust design. The handles are inline and they utilize the same spindle and screws to secure them. They can be easily installed on any uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be positioned and angled to fit the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps to ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever can be shortened to fit the widest range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further back from the door. A shortened lever is also an excellent option for doors where the latch could be opened by a thumb turn located on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently from lever-type handles found on most doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle or two spindles, inline or offset. They are commonly used on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in various finishes, including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle the best performance and long-lasting durability for its intended use.

All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles are supplied with screws and a spindle which allow them to be fitted on a new or existing uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixation centres allow for a bigger handle, which is typically an advantage when replacing an old or faulty multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles hanging from their horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is crucial to match up the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also known as the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect of matching up the right handles.

After you have determined the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the push and lever pads are designed to match the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are typically round or square, with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of the UPVC Lever Pads we sell are sprung. This means they return to a horizontal state when they are not in use instead of hanging and possibly securing to the frame. This prevents draughts from entering the property. The majority of UPVC lever pad style handles come in both left and right handed models, allowing them to be placed on either side of doors.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work by using a key to unlock a cylinder case that then reveals pins which can be aligned to those in the lock body and permitting them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with external and internal doors typically needing different levels of security.

The choice of cylinder is crucial. It's dependent on the use that your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors require a higher security cylinder, while doors inside can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that increase security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it must be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to each end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. If you cannot measure using the lock in its position, you can take it out of it. It is crucial to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to snapping lock attacks.

The design of the latest cylinders includes anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce the risk of attack by forcing the cylinder to rotate in the opposite direction. This will help to prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

There are also cylinders designed to withstand snapping. This is a common attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and easier way to gain access than using a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which can delay insurance claims.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned within the base of the door handle backplate providing a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after using. In the past, a lot of handles of this kind did not have a spring built into them and without this they can droop or  drop when the locking mechanism is disengaged. This simple part is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also helps prevent your door from becoming stuck in the closed or open position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a sprung multipoint lock. They are not compatible with unsprung handles, and you will have to cut a hole into your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please see the image for a more detailed diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of  door handles  of various kinds of uPVC doors. They are supplied in a single unit. They have a square-cut out that can accommodate an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are a fantastic cost-effective solution to the issue of handles on your doors that are sagging. These spring cassettes are easy to install and will increase the lifespan of your uPVC door.
